Materials

This lab requires per student:

• 5 25-mL volumetric flasks
• 1 50-mL volumetric flask
• Volumetric pipettes (you determine the size you need)
• Pipette bulb
• 1-cm plastic cuvette
• Beakers, for temporary storage of stock solutions
• Waste beaker
• SpectroVis UV-visible spectrometer

Solutions

This lab requires per student:

• 0.05 M sulfuric acid, about 150 ml
• 100-ppm quinine stock solution, about 20 mL
• 100-ppm quinine QC stock solution, about 10 mL
• Tonic water, about 20 mL
• Wash bottle of DI water
